Seniors at Food Court

The old aunty in my sketch sitting at opposite table must be a regular at the foodcourt. So many other seniors greet her when they walked pass her. In fact, there are so many seniors or retirees sitting there without ordering food. These are the savvy seniors who know where to rest, eat, kill time and meet people. I will probably do the same when I get older and find nothing else to do.

Marine Parade Central

I like the old dim sum stall at this Block 84 Marine Parade Central Market and Food Centre. It is called Neptune Hong Kong Dim Sum 海皇香港点心. Their helper started a new stall in the same food centre a few stall away from them called Feng Xin Dim Sum 凤心点心.

The uncle at the opposite corner wet version Apollo Fresh Cockle Fried Kway Teow stall had retired on 30 Jan 2023 and now the stall is occupied by young hawkers selling pig trotters and braised intestines which are very popular. The rental must be high but these new stalls run by younger generations have helped our local hawker cutlure to be sustainable in Marine Parade Central. Unlike the wet market where there are many empty stalls and the stall owners are visibly very old and frail.
