We are heading to JCube on 29 Apr (Sat). The place will be enbloc in Aug 2023 for J’den Residence (see website under more information below). The ice-skating rink in JCube is the last 2 in Singapore.

Let’s sketch the mall or the shops/ice-skating rink inside, before it’s gone!

Instructions for the day:

1. Make your way to the location, be aware of surroundings, and maintain necessary distancing.
2. Challenge yourself to explore hidden corners that hasn't been seen/drawn yet; this will also help prevent too many of us crowding the same perching points.
3. Post your sketches, snapshots and videos online — 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐬 #𝐮𝐬𝐤𝐬𝐠 — so everyone can easily find the day's artistic output.
4. Some sketch leaders will go around to catch you in action for posts on Facebook and Instagram, so look out for them!

June Sketchwalk at Jurong Lake

Jurong Lake Gardens is Singapore’s new national gardens in the heartlands. Covering a whopping 90 hectares, it features a glut of picturesque landscaped areas and biodiversity. Come 2021, the Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden (now closed) will join in and become part of this sprawling park. If you're wondering what's there to sketch, here are a couple of links:

We will be covering the north half of the gardens, down to the Forest Ramble playground next to the Chinese Garden entrance, but feel free to linger and explore the south end, or even go bowling after a hearty lunch at that unusual standalone KFC along Yung Ho Road.

It is out! The news release on National Day First Day Cover. If you not already known, the stamps feature 4 of my sketches of which two were done on locations in Joo Chiat , the heritage town and Taman Jurong to give tribute to late Goh Keng Swee's economic contribution to our country.
