Raffles Lighthouse at Palau Satumu

We were out sketching at Raffles Lighthouse at Pulau Satumu invited by Maritime Port Authority (MPA) on a Saturday morning. The journey from Marina South Pier to Pulau Satumu was one hour to and fro, total two hours. So sketching time was much shorter, not to mention the strong wind and drizzles. So just a few broad strokes here and there and added the blue sky at home.

Result of June Sketchwalk at Marina South Pier

I came late and it started raining, the rain might block the view but we continued to sketch inside the Marina Gallery till the sky was clear again.

Marina South Pier is very busy pier with so many workers in blue and/or orange overalls taking all those boats in and out of the docks non-stop. These are the working people contributing to our economy!

In contrary, because it is a Saturday, the Marina Cruise Centre on the right that shaped like a big cruise ship was quiet without any cruise ship in sight. This is where you can find international cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean and the new Disney Cruise. Usually I see the big cruise ships in the weekdays when I drive along Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE).
