Penny University, artisanl coffehouse, as it said on their name card is located at East Coast Road. It was a Wednesday late morning and my daughter bought me brunch at this cool place.

Sketchwalk January

Hi all, the upcoming sketchwalk will be at Bedok Reservoir. We will meet 9.30am at the Glocal Connect Village Gallery, Temasek Polytecnic (where the present Urbansketchers Singapore exhibition is at now), then we will walk to Bedok Reservoir through the School of Design. There is a MacDonalds, Subway and Toast Box within the Temasek Poly campus so if you like, you can either choose to "relax one corner" with a cup of coffee or walk to the nearby Bedok Reservoir park to sketch.

At 12.30pm, please walk back and meet at the McDonald for "show and tell."

Might be sunny so bring a hat. But there will be lots of shade so I'm told. See you there!

Bought a few coloured brush pens at my favourite stationery shop on the upper level of Funan Mall. Can't wait to try out the black brush pen immediately at the Japanese restaurant on the ground floor.

This group of senior ladies probably had not met each other for a long time. They were understandably loud and emotional with all the hugs and kisses. They looked like a group of retired teachers from a convent school and decided to meet up for the new year.

Liz was in Singapore on New Year's day and we met up for a sea food dinner. Before the dinner, we went to Whee Teck's house to try out the Daniel Simith colours on Nude Sketchbook and it confirmed that the quality of my Nude Sketchbook was not as good as before. I had to be very quick with my line work with Hero fountain pen as the ink bled through the paper easily.

First sketch of the New Year 2014

First sketch of the new year was done at Ong Whee Teck's house on a piece of paper from his Nude Sketchbook which was different quality from my Nude Sketchbook. He is now carrying Daniel Smith water colours from America and Nude sketchbooks from Thailand. I was at his house trying out the DS colours on the Nude paper. New Year, new tools and new paper! Oh yes, Liz from Sydney was there too. She is the expert on DS colours.
