budget terminal

This is the second time I am at budget terminal taking tiger airways from Singapore to Hong Kong. I will be flying frequently from now on to visit my new born granddaughter in Hong Kong so I will probably check for cheap airfares from time to time. I do like the ambiance at budget terminal where people here are quite relax. The food from the kopitiam is quite nice too especially the steamed bun.

Changi Airport T3

Sending my daughter to Samoa for her 18-day trip at Changi Airport T3. After dinner with her and sending her off, we went to the basement foodcourt for a thick local coffee and I did a sketch at KOPI, also managed by Kopitiam.

On my way to and fro Hong Kong. It was the first time that my husband and I were taking Tiger Airways from Budget Terminal. The experience was quite pleasant. We paid for food and drink on the plane.

Hong Kong Trip Dec 2011

My family attended my elder son's wedding in Hong Kong. I was excited, busy but still tried to do some sketches before and after the wedding when we were combing the streets of Hong Kong. It started from the Changi Airport - 3 sketches at starbucks, at the boarding gate and while we were high in the air.

My youngest son was selected by his school to visit the Venice Biennale and we were at Changi Airport last Thursday night to send him off to Venice. We were waiting at the coffee club before he joined his 6 other schoolmates and 2 teachers at the check-in counter.

In the air sketching

I went on a weekend trip to Hong Kong last Friday. I did the first sketch at Changi Airport on a new sketchbook I bought from Lisbon. The sketchbook was handmade by Ketta Linhares. You can follow her here. The second sketch was done in the air inside the Singapore Airline plane. It was shaking most of the time when I did this sketch. I just went with the flow with curvy wiggly lines.

Lisbon Symposium - Day zero

From Singapore to Lisbon, I started the first sketch on interior of the plane while waiting for the toilet. The lines were never straight as the plane was vibrating. I did two more sketches while in transit from Paris to Lisbon. Two French ladies came to me when I was sketching at the cafe in the airport :"Are you TIA?". They were participants from Paris to Lisbon!

We went to airport to send my elder son off for Hong Kong on Sunday, the 4th day of Chinese New Year. We had a good time chatting at this airport cafe.

As some of you already known, I will be attending the first International Urban Sketching Symposium at Portland from 29 to 31 July 2010. I am now at a hotel in Seattle sending this sketch I did at Narita Airport, Tokyo in transit from Singapore to Seattle.

For me, it was hard to sleep on the plane and I don't remember having any good sleep ever on any flight. So for almost 20 hours, I was awake most of the time! It is 10.20am here in Seattle now and my body clock has yet to adjust to local time. I am trying to rest well to prepare for this weekend as it should be fun exploring Seattle with a Sunday skechcrawl together with the local Seattle sketchers. Till then.

on my way to Seoul

It is that time of the year again. 2009 is coming to a close very soon, My family decided to visit our daughter who will be completing her overseas exchange programme at Korea University in mid-December. It should be a great idea to spend some quality family time together in Seoul.

I left earlier with my 14-year-old son for Seoul on 18 Dec and my husband would join us later. My son and I were sketching at the Changi Airport at the boarding lounge.

I did this sketch at Terminal 3 of Changi Airport after sending my sister off to Frankfurt at around 11pm. The ceiling of the huge departure hall was dominated by the day light reflecting system and it was a challenge to draw those ceiling panels initially. I completed it with the help of a big cup of thick coffee. That night I slept at 3am. Blame it on the coffee.

Singapore Airlines

As far as I can remember, I have never sketched any airport before. So this sketch of Singapore Airlines SQ198 to Penang from Changi Airport could be the first.
